This workshop is geared towards teachers that want to address the "elephant" in the room: race, students of color, cultural competency and cultures in the curriculum. This will be an atmosphere of informational exchanges of ideologies and practices.

If you are expecting a formal and structured training workshop with handouts, powerpoint slides (exceeding 10 slides) lecturing - this is not that type of venue! This is a workshop that uses the unconventional tool of "Conversation." Through conversation, guided by the facillitator, participants will be challenged to be honestly raw on classroom expectations, controversial issues and certain racial issues that they face in their classroom and with teaching certain parts of their curriculum.

Non-teachers are welcomed also.
