Race and Culture in the Classroom

  • The Change Starter, LLC United States (map)

A Three-Part Virtual Lecture and Conversation Series that will focus on understanding the concept of racism and how it impacts school-age children in the academic setting. After the lecture workshop is held to assist participants with getting familiar with the terms and complexities associated with racism, additional follow-up conversations will occur. Conversations on the fear of having the dialogue and the legacy of slavery will take place. These conversations will be the beginning stages of helping attendees to understanding the origins of racism and its impact. The discussions will also introduce participants to learning how to start getting acclimated to holding in-depth, raw, and honest conversations on racism while simultaneously learning how to go beyond the superficialities of having “The Conversation.”
